Five species—B. subtilis (S1), B. licheniformis (S2), B. tequilensis (S3), B. velezensis (S4), and B. persicus (S5)—were identified through 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Gene-specific PCR revealed the presence of OPA and MPD genes, whereas OPD and OPDA were not detected. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated considerable genetic diversity among the isolates and identified S1 (B. subtilis) and S2 (B. licheniformis) as the most promising candidates for the bioremediation of chlorpyrifos-contaminated soils.
